Last year, longtime Los Angeles Clippers TV broadcaster Ralph Lawler announced that he would be retiring at the end of the 2018-19 season. After 40 years, the well-known voice of the team's commentary booth has called it quits and will enter the Hall of Fame shortly. Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times announced that Lawler's spot will be taken by Clippers radio broadcaster Brian Sieman.

“Brian Sieman is close to finalizing a deal to become the new television voice of the Clippers, succeeding the soon-to-be Hall of Famer Ralph Lawler in the play-by-play role, The Times has learned. Sieman is no stranger to the Clippers, having worked as the team’s radio voice since 2007. Sieman previously called games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx. He will succeed Lawler, who called 3,229 regular-season Clippers games over 40 seasons before retiring following the 2018-19 season. Lawler will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in September as a recipient of the 2019 Curt Gowdy Media Award.”

Lawler will be sorely missed. His iconic “BINGO” call after made threes will live on forever in Clippers fans memories. Lawler will leave with plenty of “Lawler-isms” that made listeners smile.

Sieman is a good choice to fill the big shoes left by Lawler. Hopefully, he can continue the excellent broadcasting that Lawler and the Clippers have presented for years.
