The Los Angeles Clippers are currently dominating the New York Knicks. As of this writing, they have already scored 78 points (Knicks only have 42) late in the second quarter, and it is solely because of point guard Landry Shamet's hot shooting.

Shamet, the 16th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, currently has 21 points, all scored from behind the arc. He hit seven 3-pointers in the first quarter, tying the Clippers' franchise record for a rookie.

The 21 year-old guard is shooting 7.9 from the 3-point area, and it's just the first half.

Shamet was initially drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, but was shipped to the Clippers last month as part of the Tobias Harris trade. He's been impressive all season, putting up 8.7 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. He's also shooting an impressive 43.7 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from behind the arc.

The Clippers have found a promising prospect in Shamet, and if he continues to play well, he might become a part of the team's long-term future; a future that's expected to be bright considering the fact that the franchise have enough cap space to sign two max level superstars this summer.

But for now, the Clippers are focused on making the playoffs. They are currently seventh in the Western Conference standings and should they be able to hold onto that spot, they will have a date with the second seeded Denver Nuggets in the first round.
