The Los Angeles Clippers will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the first seeding game this Thursday. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers believes shooting guard Landry Shamet will be ready for Thursday’s game, but says defensive ace Patrick Beverley is a “maybe.”

Shamet has recovered from COVID-19 and arrived at the Orlando bubble this past weekend. Beverley, meanwhile, is back with the Clippers after leaving the bubble for a family emergency. However, the Chicago native hasn't practiced or played basketball in about two weeks.

The Clippers have the second-best record in the West, while the Lakers are in first place and 5.5 games ahead of LAC.

Rivers and Co. are going to need Shamet and Beverley to play at a high level once the playoffs start if the team wants to win its first title in franchise history. Shamet spaces the floor for Los Angeles well with his 3-point shooting, while Beverley is arguably the heart and soul of the squad and plays elite defense on the perimeter every second he's on the floor.

Of course, the Clippers will ultimately go as far as superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George can lead the team offensively. However, it's important that the Clippers' role players show up in the playoffs and help Leonard and George at every turn, both on offense and defense.

The 2020 playoffs are going to be a lot of fun to watch, but before those games start, the Clippers and the other 21 teams in Orlando have to knock off even more rust during the seeding games.
