Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic is gunning for a historic All-Star appearance, and more than a few people are taking notice.

On Thursday, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Lou Williams got a chance to see the rookie live when he made his career high, and he couldn't stop singing Doncic's praises.

“That boy is a star, man. I'm really impressed. That was my first time seeing him live. He’s extremely talented. Love the way he competed. I’m a big fan,” Williams said.

While more than a few have noticed that Luka Doncic is the one to beat for Rookie of the Year, it will be interesting to see if he does make an All-Star appearance this season. If he does, he will become the youngest rookie in history to achieve the honor, according to CBS Sports.

Doncic already has some impressive stats: he's up to 18.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for the season. He has also shot 48 percent from the field and 35 percent on 3-pointers.

The Mavs are in a bit of a rut right now after four straight losses, but they're still 15-15 on the season and doing better than expected. Luka Doncic's performances have more than contributed to that forward move.

The Mavs are next scheduled to play the Warriors on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET.
