Lou Williams finally notched his first career triple-double, and it took him over 13 NBA seasons to get one. The long-time reserve guard helped the Los Angeles Clippers snatch a 106-101 road victory over the Chicago Bulls and finished with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

After the game, Williams couldn't hold back his excitement over his accomplishment.

“It's special. This is my first career triple double. This one I'll celebrate. It's cool,” Williams said, per ESPN. “Rebounding's not necessarily my thing. I never bank on getting triple-doubles. I give up most of my rebounds away to the big guys. I let the ball bounce so they can get it.

“I just play. The only person that mentioned something to me was Boban (Marjanovic) with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. I was like, `I appreciate it, Boban, but you're going to mess with my psyche.' It was cool to get it. It was fun.”

As Williams said, rebounding hasn't always been his strength. Moreover, getting a triple-double with rebounds might be difficult for him considering his 6-foot-1 stature.

Williams did have a shot at recording his first triple-double last season, as he famously had a game where he had 31 points and 10 steals, but came short of three assists. Nonetheless, that stat-line was a record in itself, and Williams accomplished another one last night.

With his stat-line last night, Williams became only the second player in NBA history to record a 30-point triple-double as a reserve. What makes this more amazing is that Williams did not stat-pad to get the triple-double. Given that the Clippers were in a close fight against the Bulls, everything seemed to happen within the flow of the game.
