With excellent performances for an otherwise disappointing Los Angeles Clippers team, Lou Williams believes he is an All-Star caliber player. Injuries to backcourt teammates like Patrick Beverly, Austin Rivers, and Milos Teodosic have helped Williams get a bigger chance to showcase his scoring.

According to Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner, Williams knows his game deserves recognition:

“Naw, I’ll be proud if I make it. Honestly, I deserve it. I rarely speak about myself because I’ve never set personal goals. Being an All-Star wasn’t even on my radar this year. But with what this team has been through this year with injuries, with so many different lineups and still having an opportunity to compete for the playoffs and to put ourselves over .500 at this point, I think I’ve got something to do with that.”

For the past month and a half, Williams has been absolutely insane. He is scoring in bunches and people around the league are realizing it. Lou-Will hopes coaches help him get to his first All-Star game ever:

“My play over the last six weeks or so has been pretty good for our team. Hopefully the coaches do right by that and just see the body of work that I’ve been able to put together.”

Williams' numbers this season are certainly All-Star worthy. He averages 23.4 points, five assists, and 2.5 rebounds on 44.9 percent shooting from the field and 40.8 percent shooting from three-point land over 32.1 minutes. He has the numbers but with players like Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, and Jimmy Butler also in play for an All-Star spot, Williams may struggle to get enough votes to be named as a reserve.
