LA Clippers guard Lou Williams thinks he is not only making a “strong case” for the Sixth Man of the Year award. He believes he has it in the bag.

Williams further solidified his status as the best off-the-bench player in the NBA with a buzzer-beating game-winner against the Brooklyn Nets — his first of such in his career. After the game, the 32-year-old NBA veteran was asked about his position in the Sixth Man race, and he didn't hold back with a rather direct response.

The LA-based team was on the brink of collapsing after allowing the Nets to stage a 10-0 run in the final stretch of the fourth quarter, but Williams stepped up big time to give the Clippers the win. He finished with a team-high 25 points on top of six rebounds and two assists.

Sure enough, it's hard to argue with Williams' latest remarks. Although he has not started in any game for the Clippers this season, he is averaging 20.4 points, 3,0 rebounds and 5.2 assists per contest.

Following Williams' buzzer-beater, former NBA player-turned broadcaster Richard Jefferson even went on to declare Sweet Lou as the “Sixth Man of the Year” — clear proof of how dominant he has been all season long.

It's also worth noting that Lou-Will recently became the highest-scoring reserve player in NBA history. He toppled Dell Curry for the position in their rout of the Boston Celtics earlier last week.
