Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams was the latest guest on Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson's “All The Smoke” show and the three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner talked about the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes which took place over the summer.

Leonard was being recruited by the Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors. Clippers management asked Williams to text Leonard and Lou was fine with it.

However, the scoring machine admits he thought he messed things up after Leonard didn't call him back after four days:

Luckily for Williams and the Clippers, everything was good. Leonard signed with the Clippers and then LA sent shock waves throughout the NBA after acquiring Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With Leonard and George leading the charge and Sweet Lou leading the bench unit, the Clippers are legitimate title contenders for the first time in franchise history. LA is 10-5 on the season after defeating the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.

As usual, Williams has been lethal off the bench this season. He's averaging 22.5 points while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Leonard, meanwhile, is putting up 25.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.7 assists. The two-time Finals MVP is shooting 43.2 percent overall and 85.1 percent from the charity stripe.
