The Los Angeles Clippers are a fringe playoff team in 2021-22, but that's without two of their best players in Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. However, it wasn't long ago that Ty Lue's squad choked in the Orlando Bubble, blowing a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals to the Denver Nuggets in September of 2020.

If you're asking Marcus Morris Sr though, there is only one reason the Clippers weren't able to close it out.

Via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN:

“We only lost that s— because we were in the bubble,” Marcus Morris Sr. says. “[If] we weren't in the bubble, we'd beat the s— out of them. Put that on the record. … Guys are out of their comfort zone. Kudos to Denver.”

There could be some truth to that. The bubble was certainly a different atmosphere. Thousands of miles from their home arenas and no fans. To this day, people say the Lakers' title doesn't really count because it was in the bubble. But despite Morris' comments, the Clippers dropped the ball. There is no excuse for losing a 3-1 lead, especially when you have two of the best players in the Association in Kawhi and PG.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were both playing out of their minds for the Nuggets though, but they, unfortunately, came up short in the conference finals against LeBron James and Co.

As for the Clippers, they're likely going to be in the play-in tournament this season, which means a rematch with the Denver is unlikely, who sit in sixth place. But if these two teams somehow do play each other in the postseason again, expect fireworks.
