Former Los Angeles Clippers small forward Matt Barnes has a bold idea on how the Clips can ultimately win a championship one day.

Appearing on CBS Sports HQ, Barnes says the Clippers franchise needs to get a new team name when the organization moves to Inglewood for the 2024-25 season.

The Clippers franchise has never made it to the Western Conference Finals. They were one win away this year, but the team blew a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets at Walt Disney World.

There could be big changes this offseason in Clipper Land. While Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that head coach Doc Rivers will likely be back, the roster in Los Angeles could be altered.

The odds of Clippers stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George getting traded are very, very low. Even though both players were awful in Game 7 against the Nuggets, Leonard and George (for the most part) were really productive in their first season together.

However, 2020 Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell could be gone since he becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason and was exposed on defense in the postseason. Harrell and George also reportedly got into a shouting match at Walt Disney World during a timeout, so their relationship is clearly up in the air.

Matt Barnes was on the 2014-15 Clippers team which blew a 3-1 series lead to the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2015 playoffs, so he knows all about the Clips curse.
