Montrezl Harrell is a good teammate. According to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, the undersized LA Clippers center is more concerned with helping reigning Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams bag another one for his trophy case rather than getting one for himself.

Harrell then added that he is gunning for a different individual award: Most Improved Player.

Harrell and Williams both had strong games off the bench and were instrumental in the Clippers' 121-116 overtime win over the Golden State Warriors. Williams led the charge with 25 points and six assists in 32 minutes. Though he did shoot just 5-of-18 from the field, the 2018 Sixth Man of the Year winner did convert all of his 14 attempts from the stripe. More importantly, he made clutch plays down the stretch in overtime to seal the win for Los Angeles.

Williams is averaging 19.1 points and 4.2 assists in 26 minutes per game for the Clippers this season. His numbers are a bit down from what he produced last season, given that the Clippers' guard rotation is heavy to start the year. Nonetheless, Williams continues to get buckets off the bench and is still making a case to win his third Sixth Man of the Year award.

Harrell, on the other hand, notched 23 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in 32 minutes. He provided much-needed energy and hustle off the bench to help the Clippers fend off the defending champs.

The former Louisville Cardinal is certainly making a case for both Sixth Man of the Year and Most Improved Player as he is having himself a breakout season in his fourth season in the NBA. Harrell is averaging 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 23.3 minutes per game off the bench. Moreover, Montrezl Harrell has shown steady improvement in his four years in the league as his numbers continue to climb every season.
