Patrick Beverley's infamous shoving incident was the talk of NBA Twitter during the final game of the hard-fought Los Angeles Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns series. The league clearly took notice as well.

Days after the series end of Clippers-Suns, the NBA has officially hit Pat Bev with his punishment – a one-game suspension without pay, to be served at the start of the next season. The news was reported by The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Clippers guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended one game without pay for an unsportsmanlike act for forcefully pushing Suns guard Chris Paul.

The Clippers guard made sure to apologize to Chris Paul on Twitter, claiming that his emotions ran high, especially after Paul sank the dagger into LAC's collective heart late into Game 6.

@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang. My bad wasn’t meant for you. Congrats on making it to the Finals. Best of Luck
All things considered, Beverley should consider himself lucky for getting off with such a light punishment. Considering the gravity of the situation and the target that he took his frustrations out on, a one-game suspension isn't so bad. Perhaps a bigger punishment would be to witness Chris Paul win his first NBA championship instead of Pat Bev's Clippers. Now that would really sting.
