The 31-year-old Beverley recently agreed to re-sign with the Clippers on a three-year, $40 million contract. This is Beverley's most lucrative deal in his eight-year NBA career.
To recall, he was the 42nd overall pick back in 2009. But it wasn't until the 2012-2013 season that he'll actually suit up and play. After college and after being drafted, he would play for several teams abroad to earn a living and to prepare himself for the NBA.
Once he officially stepped foot in the NBA, he slowly built a reputation as one of the fiercest guards in the league. For his efforts, he was named into the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2014 and NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2017.
In an old interview with Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Beverley shared his mindset towards the game. For the Illinois native, winning is the most important thing:
âWinning has always been the most important thing to me since Iâve ever played basketball. That doesnât and wonât change⊠Losing is not an option for me. I get my respect from winning and that wonât changeâ

Now, Beverley can call himself a winner. Not because he has won a championship. But because he has made his mother happy and proud.
