Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley suffered a concussion on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors and was forced to exit the game. He never returned.

As a result, the Clippers are listing Beverley as out for Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves:

The Clippers defeated the Raptors in Kawhi Leonard's return to Toronto. LAC is now 19-7 on the season. They have the second-best record in the Western Conference, trailing only the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 22-3.

Now that Leonard and Paul George are playing together, LA has three elite perimeter defenders in Kawhi, PG-13 and Beverley. The Clippers currently have the 12th-best defense in the NBA. They are giving up 107.7 points per night. Expect that number to drop as the season moves along.

For the first time in franchise history, the Clippers are legitimate title contenders with Leonard and George leading the way. Beverley is averaging 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists on the season while shooting 40.1 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 60.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers will be cautious with Beverley since concussions are a serious matter. The Chicago native has career averages of 9.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists with the Houston Rockets and Clippers.
