Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is extremely happy for forward Montrezl Harrell, who won the 2020 Sixth Man of the Year Award on Friday.

Harrell, who began his NBA career with the Houston Rockets, was acquired by the Clippers in 2017 in the blockbuster Chris Paul trade. Since arriving in Los Angeles, the North Carolina native has been averaging 15.2 points and 5.8 rebounds in the regular season.

The Clippers arguably have the two best bench players in the league in Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams, solidifying the backup unit behind superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Los Angeles is finally healthy in the playoffs, and it looks like they are ready to dominate. The Clippers destroyed the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of the second round on Thursday to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Harrell becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Clippers have said all along they plan to re-sign the energetic big man, who loves playing in Los Angeles with his teammates and for the fans.

It's been a tough couple of months for Harrell, who lost his grandmother in August. He left the Disney bubble to be with family before returning to Orlando for the Clippers' first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks. Harrell averaged 9.0 points and 3.3 rebounds against the Mavs in the six-game series.

For the Clippers to ultimately win the championship at Disney World, Harrell will have to continue his stellar play off the bench.
