The coronavirus pandemic has put NBA action to a grinding halt. But for the Los Angeles Clippers' Patrick Beverley, the quarantine has not prevented him from putting in the work.

Talking with Andre Drummond before the two dueled in NBA 2k, the Clippers' defensive ace confessed that he's been working out ‘like a madman' during the quarantine.

It's not a surprise that Beverley is still working his butt off. After all, this is what led him to become one of the best defenders and most intense players in the NBA.

To recall, the Clippers point guard was the 42nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Though he was selected, he didn't immediately set foot in the NBA. He had to go abroad to earn his stripes by spending some time in the Euroleague.

Fast forward to 2013, he inked a deal with the Houston Rockets. From being part of the second unit, Beverley quickly rose as the team's starting guard. This is where the world got a first-look at Beverley's intensity, which has now become his trademark. With Houston, Beverley helped the team become a perennial playoff contender. He was also selected to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2014. And in 2017, he was selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team.

In the same year, he was shipped to the Clippers in the blockbuster deal which included Chris Paul. It was with the Clippers where Beverley received the heftiest contract of his career: a three-year, $40 million deal. It's a well-deserved gift for Beverley who has gone through tough times. But he's not taking a single minute for granted.
