A lot of people were surprised when Paul George said during his introductory press conference that he grew up as a Los Angeles Clippers fan. Of course, the consensus prior to him joining the Clips was that he was a Los Angeles Lakers fan growing up.

Apparently, he could be really telling the truth… and that he was a fan of a team other than the Clippers as well.

Here's a 2012 tweet of PG, saying that he's a fan of not only the Clippers but also the Golden State Warriors.

During George's younger years, both the Clippers and the Warriors were both struggling to make it to the playoffs, but they were competitive enough to be relevant to some extent. It is only during the beginning of this decade that they had constant success.

Well, George is going to play for the Clippers now, and he will have the opportunity to accomplish what most of the franchise's stars failed to do in the past; lead the team to a championship. And he's not going to do it alone, as he will be teaming up with another self-proclaimed Clippers fan, Kawhi Leonard.

In reality, this isn't really supposed to be a big deal. It's just that people find it hard that two of the NBA's biggest stars didn't grow up as Laker fans, especially considering the fact that both PG and Kawhi grew up in Los Angeles.

The Clippers had a massive free agency, and it must be pretty good for them to know that the players they have acquired also once dreamt of playing for their franchise.
