It looks like Paul George is getting close to returning to the Los Angeles Clippers. Aside from the latest updates about his recovery, his recent workout video hinted as much.

On Monday, the Clippers showed a video of George doing 5-on-5 practice. He seemed to be in full health already, as he smoothly dished an assist to Ivica Zubac for the easy dunk. It was a sight to see considering the journey the veteran forward had to go through to recover from an elbow injury.

Paul George has been out since December 2021 due to a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. There were initial fears that he could miss the rest of the season because of the issue, but fortunately, his elbow recovered nicely and it appears he is closer to returning.

As Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints reported earlier, there is optimism that PG13 will suit up against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. It is still not yet final and his status will be decided in the hours leading up to the game, but George has certainly shown he is ready when his number is called upon.

“It would be huge,” Coach Tyronn Lue shared on Paul George's potential return to the Clippers. “It would be huge and like I always say: hope is stronger than fear. To have the hope that he could come back would be great for our team especially the job our team has done all season long of just playing out of position, doing more than they would normally do on a night-to-night basis but this team has done it so right now we are dragging a little bit and to get a guy like PG back would definitely help us out.”

Before being sidelined, George was averaging 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists on 42.1 percent shooting from the field. He had been carrying the Clippers alone in the absence of Kawhi Leonard, and he had found some success in doing so. LA was 14-12 in the 26 games he played in the first half of the season before he was shut down.

It remains to be seen if George can suit up soon, but seeing him practicing with the team and looking in game condition is definitely good news for LA as they try to contend for a playoff spot.
