Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George underwent two shoulder surgeries last summer and missed the first 11 games of the 2019-20 season. The All-Star swingman also sat out a few games for the Clips due to a hamstring ailment.

With that said, the NBA hiatus has been very beneficial to George, who admits he needed the break to get his body right for the 2020 playoffs.

The Clippers star talked about the benefits of the NBA's coronavirus-forced hiatus with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles on the Knuckleheads podcast:

“This little pause right now has been perfect. I feel amazing right now. My shoulders literally like two or three weeks ago finally loosened all the way up to where I don't really gotta do shoulder rehab no more,” Paul George said.

“I was still doing shoulder rehab all the way up until about three weeks ago and this was almost a full year since I had them done… It's just been a process, and my body just feels great right now. It's responding well, I've been lifting and working out every day, staying ready, but I needed this little break.”

Before the season was suspended in March, George was averaging 21.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists for the Clippers in 42 games. LAC has the second-best record in the Western Conference standings with George and Kawhi Leonard leading the charge, establishing themselves as one of the favorites to win the 2020 title.

The NBA hiatus provided George and Leonard with the opportunity to stay off their feet and unbend. The only way the Clippers are going to win their first title in organizational history is if PG-13 and Kawhi are at 100 percent once the playoffs begin.
