The Clippers are already up against the wall following their loss against the Timberwolves. But they received some tragic news on Friday, as it was recently revealed that Paul George will miss the win-or-go home affair against the Pelicans on Friday night after entering health and safety protocols, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

LA is already without co-star Kawhi Leonard. Losing George as well truly dampens their hopes of emerging victorious in this play-in game and clinching a postseason spot. Paul George scored 34 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Clippers loss against the Timberwolves. He has been crucial to their success ever since he returned from his late December injury.

LA had aspirations of making some noise in the postseason entering the play-in tournament. Their loss against Minnesota obviously dampened their chances, but the Clippers were not out of contention. George and the team expected to defeat New Orleans at home on Friday. And the team still could could get the job done. But playing without Paul George will certainly present a major obstacle.

Los Angeles will need all hands on deck if they want to emerge victorious without PG-13. Players such as Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris Sr., and Norman Powell will need to step up. Powell is especially interesting. He is an undervalued scorer who has the ability to lead an offense when he gets hot. If Powell can find his rhythm early and maintain it throughout the game, he could end up being the Clippers saving grace in this affair.

Powell and the Clippers will attempt to salvage a victory without superstar Paul George on Friday night.
