Former Los Angeles Clippers TV broadcaster Ralph Lawler started jumping up and down in his bed when he saw the Clippers were getting Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Shortly after news broke Leonard had agreed to sign a three-year deal with the Clippers, LAC agreed to a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder to acquire George.

Lawler, who retired from his post after the 2019 playoffs ended, was so happy and hugged his wife, via Jovan Buha of The Athletic:

On the night of July 5, Lawler was in bed around 11 p.m., falling asleep. He was beginning to worry the Clippers were going to strike out in free agency. His gut told him to check his phone one more time before going to sleep. He swiped it open to see a flurry of texts and tweets confirming the shocking news: Leonard and George were Clippers. Lawler, feeling a wave of euphoria, started jumping up and down in bed. He then turned to Jo and hugged her.

“Holy cow, look at that,” Lawler muttered to himself.

For the first time in franchise history, the Clippers are legitimate title contenders with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the charge. Both superstars are from California and eager to lead the Clips to their first-ever championship.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the Raptors last season, while George put up 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists with the Thunder. Ralph Lawler is going to have a lot of fun watching Clippers game next season on TV.
