The Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes are well underway and the L.A. Clippers are wasting no time when it comes to putting eyes on him, as they have already started to scout the Toronto Raptors forward this early in the season.

Per ESPN's Brian Windhorst:

“It doesn't help Toronto that plenty of people in the league don't think Leonard is going to stay. That's not binding either, just ask those who had Paul George ticketed out of Oklahoma City a year ago. Still, the LA Clippers are already rotating scouts through Raptor games like Leonard is a college prospect and they have the No. 1 pick. The Raptors can say anything. One thing they aren't is naïve.”

Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics refused to make a big move for Kawhi Leonard this offseason, letting the Raptors swoop in on the action and snag him by trading away DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl.

The Raptors are still very aware of Leonard's desire of playing for his hometown of Los Angeles, something the Clippers seem eager to capitalize on, hoping to lure the All-Star forward during the summer.

Kawhi Leonard is unlikely to give any sort of commitment to the franchise either publicly or privately until it is time to make his decision next offseason, something that internally worries the front office, tasked with convincing him to stay after taking a huge gamble during this offseason.
