After signing a 10-day contract just last week with the L.A. Clippers, Sean Kilpatrick has already seen action for them in four games. Despite his limited playing time and production, the team has decided to bring him back on a second 10-day deal, according to Clippers beat reporter Brad Turner.

The 28-year-old Cincinnati product has only been receiving 7.5 minutes of action while averaging 2.0 points and 0.5 assists per game. However, he is giving head coach Doc Rivers more options to use in their backcourt, especially being a knockdown perimeter shooter, including from beyond the arc.

It's no secret that the Clippers are in the dogfight for one of the last playoff spots in the tough Western Conference, and have seen a number of their key players suffer different injuries over the course of the season.

That said, the need to have fresh legs is urgent, and Kilpatrick provides them with that. He recently saw action for the Milwaukee Bucks, appearing for them in 23 games, but was waived last month after converting his contract to a standard one. He has his work cut out for him in L.A., though, as Lou Williams and Austin Rivers basically run the ship at his position.

The Clippers now have 10 days to decide if they want to retain Kilpatrick's services for the remainder of the season or not. The league only allows a maximum of two 10-day contracts now, and should they decide to part ways with him, they will probably look to sign another free agent or a G-League standout to fill in their open roster spot.
