Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has gotten tired of the narrative claiming that his Clippers are LA's “other team.” The billionaire recently sounded off on all the hate his team has been getting from supporters of their bitter cross-town rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.

In his mind, Ballmer is adamant that the Purple & Gold should start worrying about the Clippers. The business mogul explained why he believes Lakers fans get so riled up when talking about the Clipa:

“Why did so many in the town cheer against us? At some points it gets like this … for a long time the Clippers were nothing, so nobody had to pay attention, and for people who had been Lakers fans forever, there’s no threat,” Ballmer said, via the Los Angeles Times.

“We’ll, we’ve gotten pretty good. We’re actually serious, you can see we’re serious, we’re not the old screwed-up franchise in town, we’re getting our act together and I think because we’re getting our act together, it gets people like, ‘C’mon, you can’t get your act together, it’s just my team, my team is the only one that matters.'”

Steve  Ballmer's tirade did not end there. The Clippers' team owner then sent out a stern warning to the Lakers and its supporters ahead of what should be a very interesting season ahead.:

“I have been surprised by animus from Lakers fans, and my message has sort of been, why, you don’t have enough confidence in your guys? There are 29 other teams you have to beat to win a championship, but you must be pretty worried about us,” Ballmer continued. “The Lakers are a great organization, a great franchise, but Laker fans, you must be a little worried about us.”

There's no denying that the past two seasons have ended in utter disappointment for the Clippers, but it's also a fact that they remain to be one of the biggest threats to the title this coming campaign. The Lakers are one of the favorites to go all the way in 2021-22, but as Ballmer said, LeBron James and Co. will have to get through the Clippers first.
