The Los Angeles Clippers suffered an epic collapse against the Denver Nuggets in the second round, blowing a 3-1 lead and losing double-digit leads in each of the last three games. Clippers coach Doc Rivers took a lot of heat for not making enough adjustments to stem the tide, but his job isn't in jeopardy at the moment, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Rivers was reportedly a big reason why Kawhi Leonard joined the Clippers, and he's one of the more well-respected coaches in the NBA. Rivers has been a key voice in recent months speaking out against racial injustice. He also played a key role during the player strike last month and is viewed as a great leader.

However, while Rivers has won a championship and enjoyed a lot of success as a head coach, it's hard to look past some of his playoff failures. He has now overseen three blown 3-1 leads, with another coming in 2015 with the Clippers and the first one coming in 2003 as head coach of the Orlando Magic. No other coach in NBA history has pulled off this feat.

Furthermore, Rivers has coached six teams that have blown 3-2 playoff leads. In light of this latest debacle and all of the talk about chemistry issues, it's understandable why some were wondering about his Clippers future.

Firing Rivers would have been rather rash, though, especially given the respect Leonard has for him. It makes sense to run it back at least one more season ahead of potential free agencies for Leonard and Paul George. However, if next season goes down in flames, that might be it for Doc Rivers in LA.
