The L.A. Clippers could easily yield a first-round pick in return for Lou Williams' services prior to this NBA trade deadline, should they decide to send him packing, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

“[The Clippers] are going to get a first-round pick for Louis Williams,” said Stein as a guest of Nate Duncan's Dunc'd On podcast. “I believe that there is—I don’t know where yet—but I believe there is sufficient interest in Lou Williams, that somehow, some way, they get a first.”

Williams is by far the best scoring prospect of available trade targets, averaging a blistering 23.5 points and 5.2 assists per game as one of the key pieces of this team.

In a trade market that includes the likes of Tyreke Evans, Evan Fournier, and Greg Monroe, the Clippers possess the single most-lethal weapon when it comes to offensive firepower, as the 31-year-old is shooting an potent 39.5 percent from deep and an impeccable 89.5 percent from the free-throw line — making him a key asset any team would love to have within their reins.

By rule of thumb, a player in his early 30s generally never generates a first-rounder in return due to the age factor, but given Williams' career has been largely spent in limited minutes off the bench, his legs are a lot fresher than most.

The former Sixth Man of the Year has proven to be not only a capable scorer, but a playmaker, putting up the best assist numbers of his NBA career.

Should a team come knocking at the Clippers' door, they'll be met with a high-asking price for Williams.
