The Los Angeles Clippers reportedly planned to show interest in point guard Kris Dunn this offseason, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

Dunn becomes a restricted free agent in the summer if the Chicago Bulls offer him a qualifying offer by June 29.

The Bulls announced on Tuesday that Dunn will miss the rest of the season because of an MCL injury:

League gossip has existed all season that the Clippers are at least one team that planned to show interest in Kris Dunn this offseason. Whether his injury changes that or what other teams get involved is unknown.

Dunn appeared in 51 games for the Bulls this season. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 25.9 percent from beyond the arc and 74.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers signed point guard Reggie Jackson after he got a buyout from the Detroit Pistons. Jackson becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer and Dunn will probably cost less than Jackson.

As a restricted free agent, Dunn can sign an offer sheet with any team he wants and then the Bulls would have 48 hours to match the offer or let the defensive guard walk for nothing. Dunn has career NBA averages of 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls.
