The Los Angeles Clippers are considered a potential landing spot for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, but the Clippers have yet to actually make an offer to the Pelicans, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The problem for the Clippers is that even if they do make an offer, they probably don't have enough to sway New Orleans into agreeing to a trade.

That isn't to say that Los Angeles doesn't have any good pieces, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Montrezl Harrell and Jerome Robinson are all attractive assets that are cheap, young and talented. And while Tobias Harris is a terrific player, he is set to be a free agent this summer and would be a flight risk.

However, the Clippers don't have much in the form of draft picks. As a matter of fact, if Los Angeles makes the playoffs this season, it will surrender its first-round draft choice to the Boston Celtics.

The Pelicans also probably would not have much interest in future Clippers picks, because a Davis-led Clippers squad would almost certainly be a playoff team for years to come, especially considering that Los Angeles also has the cap space to add another big-name free agent this summer. Kawhi Leonard has long been mentioned as a potential coup for the Clippers this coming offseason, for example.

While the Pels will probably listen to what the Clips have to say, it's hard to imagine a deal getting done between the two sides given LA's overall lack of assets.

One thing is for sure: the Pelicans are also very unlikely to get a deal done with anyone before the Thursday trade deadline, as it is looking more and more likely that New Orleans will wait until the summer before making a move.
