Point guard Milos Teodosic recently opted into a $6.3 million player option with the LA Clippers, but there has been some speculation that he could be on the move. with the Clippers acquiring a. pair of rookie guards in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Someone who has been high on Teodosic over the last couple of years is new Phoenix Suns coach Igor Kokoskov. As the first European-born head coach in the NBA, Kokoskov is knowledgeable in the history of European basketball and Teodosic' role as one of the greatest point guards in the history of Europe.

Ironically, the Suns are also in need of a veteran point guard as well who can facilitate and get their younger players good looks on offense. Kokoskov recently spoke to via Saša Ozmo of Sport Klub, as translated by Antonis Stroggylakis of Eurohoops.net, and he had a number of interesting notes about Teodosic, who is still a member of the Clippers:

“I think all the best about Milos, he is my friend and we had the opportunity to meet here. He is basketball legend. These are the names we take a look at when it comes to free agents, but of course, everything is far from a decision. What I can say is that Milos is absolutely an NBA player. He has done a lot both at the level of the (Serbian) national team and at the EuroLeague level, so his path now is the USA – he had a good season and certainly is one of the names we [Suns] discuss.”

First of all, this could be a clear case of tampering as Teodosic is under contract and is in no way a free agent. As Dan Feldman of NBC Sports notes, the Sacramento Kings were fined for Mike Malone's comments about Chris Paul looking good in a Kings' uniform. Kokoskov states that Teodosic is one of the names the Suns have discussed and that he's a guy who has met with him recently. Yikes.

We've yet to hear from the NBA on this matter, but we surely will over the next few days as free agency begins on July 1.
