Since the departure of Chris Paul last week, the Los Angeles Clippers have been aggressively trying to put together a roster that can still compete in the Western Conference.

The latest chatter surrounding the team concerns the possibility of adding forward Danilo Gallinari to the mix. Although the Clips don't possess an abundance of salary-cap space, Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports is reporting that the Clippers are looking to formulate a three-team trade in order to land Gallinari. The possibility of a return to the Nuggets remains in the picture, though.

The Sacramento Kings, previously in the hunt for Gallinari as well, are reportedly no longer in play.

The addition of Gallinari would be a major step in the right direction as it would provide the team with a dependable scorer that he can help shoulder some of the offensive load from All-Star forward Blake Griffin.

Despite dealing with persistent injuries over the last few years, the 28-year-old could be a major impact player for the Clippers. He is a proven scorer, coming off another productive campaign where he averaged 18.2 points on 44.7 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

It has become clear that Los Angeles is hoping to remain relevant, which could equate to much more activity this offseason beyond just pursuing Gallinari in free agency.
