L.A. Clippers forward Blake Griffin remains sidelined with a knee injury, but he nearly had his ego bruised on Tuesday when he didn’t get the high five he was waiting for from his teammate Lou Williams. Fortunately for Griffin, Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan was there to rescue him from falling into the pit of desolation.

For a moment there, Blake Griffin must have felt what it’s like to be Tom Brady. Brady, however, didn’t have a teammate like Jordan to help him get out of the sad and feared predicament of being left hanging.

Hopefully for the Clippers, Griffin won’t hold a grudge against Williams. The last thing the team wants is for their players to turn against each other, especially with L.A. struggling this season.

The Clippers are just 14-19 as of this writing. They have been hit with a number of injuries to their key players, including Griffin, who has not played since a Nov. 27 120-115 win over the Los Angeles Lakers because of an MCL injury.

Blake Griffin, however, is nearing a return, which could come this week. In 19 games played so far this season, the former No. 1 overall pick has averaged 23.6 points and 7.9 rebounds in 35.8 minutes.
