Late in the first quarter of a Saturday afternoon game between the L.A. Clippers and the Golden State Warriors, a scary incident took place involving Clippers star forward Blake Griffin and Warriors center JaVale McGee.

With the Clippers down 29-20, Griffin faked out Warriors forward Draymond Green at the 3-point line and then attacked the basket. Once Griffin got to the paint and was about to put up an awkward-looking shot attempt, McGee raised his arm up to block the shot but accidentally elbowed the Clippers star in the head and caused a turnover.

“Blake Griffin is down, ladies and gentlemen, and not moving at the Clipper foul line,” said Clippers legendary play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler. “Blake Griffin has not gotten up. See that right hand is trembling.”

A video of the frightening play of Griffin taking an inadvertent elbow square to the head from McGee, which was posted to Twitter by Kenny Ducey of Sports Illustrated, can be viewed below.

According to a tweet posted by ClutchPoints' own Tomer Azarly, Griffin was diagnosed with a concussion and was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

This is yet another horrible stroke of luck for the Clippers this season with the injury bug, as Griffin had only been back with the team for four games following his return from an MCL injury.

Before he took an elbow to the head and had to exit the game, Griffin had five points, two rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot in just 10 minutes of action.
