Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was having none of his squad's early struggles against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Trailing by 17 early in the second quarter, Rivers called a timeout to rip into his squad, attempting to light a fire under his group.

Rivers' tirade seemed to work in the short term, as the Clippers eventually cut into Houston's lead. Still, they trailed by a dozen at the break, playing their first road game since Oct. 30 and looking for their first win away from Staples Center since Oct. 24.

There may be championship hype surrounding Los Angeles out of the gates, but Rivers appears to have his sights set on the immediate task in front of him. Things may get easier once All-Star Paul George returns to the mix, which is expected to take place Thursday.

Rivers is hoping lighting into his Clippers team will get his team sparked in the second half.
