Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley took advantage of being mic'd up during the broadcast of his team's matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. Beverley literally announced that he had a broadcast mic on him, which resulted in a hilariously staged exchange about teammate Kawhi Leonard.

Here's the clip of Beverley's conversation with one of the coaching staff, as they discussed why Kawhi is the best player in the NBA:

We don't know what's the funniest bit here. Is it the fact that Beverley initially tried to engage Leonard in a conversation, but was naturally shut out (ignored?) by the reigning Finals MVP? Or how about the final moments wherein the coach talks up Beverley's unparalleled defense in the most unnatural way? Either way, a mic'd up Pat Bev is definitely good for a few laughs.

Beverley was forced to sit out Wednesday's contest yet again as he continues to recover from his left calf strain. This is the third consecutive game the 32-year-old has missed because of this issue. Nevertheless, it appears to be nothing more than a minor injury, and the Clippers are hopeful that their feisty veteran will be ready to suit up once the playoffs begin next week.

Beverley is not the type that fills the stat sheet night in and night out, but his contributions for his team go way beyond the box score. He will be a key piece for the Clippers and their championship aspirations this season.
