The Golden State Warriors may have thumped the Los Angeles Clippers by 18 points on Friday night, but that didn't stop Clippers guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from showing Klay Thompson why he is one of the most promising rookies in the league.

Check out this spin move from Gilgeous-Alexander that left Thompson in the dust during the third quarter:

That's a solid defensive player that Gilgeous-Alexander just shed.

The 20-year-old finished with 24 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals over 42 minute while going 7-of-17 from the floor in the 112-94 loss.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was selected by the Clippers in the first round (11th pick overall) of the NBA Draft this past summer.

He is enjoying a very nice rookie campaign, averaging 9.9 points, 2.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds and one steal across 25.9 minutes a night while making 47.9 percent of his field-goal attempts, 34.3 percent of his three-point tries and 82.7 percent of his free throws.

In his lone season at Kentucky, Gilgeous-Alexander registered 14.4 points, 5.1 assists, 4.1 boards and 1.6 steals through 33.7 minutes per game, connecting on 48.5 percent of his shots, 40.4 percent of his triples and 81.7 percent of his foul shots.

The Clippers got off to a very impressive start this season, going 16-7 to open up the year, but since then, they have regressed to what most people expected them to be coming into the season, going just 8-14 over their last 22 games to drop to 24-21.

They are now on the outside looking in of the Western Conference playoff picture with the Los Angeles Lakers sitting in the eighth seed at 25-21.
