Rumors about Call of Duty 2021 have been spreading like wildfire for quite some time now. The community and various leakers have named the next CODVanguard” that's supposedly coming out later this year. The upcoming title will most likely tie up with Call of Duty: Warzone. Just recently, more leaks and rumors about Vanguard’s reveal date have come to the surface.

Gamescom announced that Activision is participating in this year’s August 25 event. Since Vanguard is set to release this year, Activision’s appearance leads to the community’s speculation of the next Call Of Duty game’s revelation. Cold War premiered in last year's Gamescom.

Tom Henderson, a popular Call of Duty leaker, stated in a tweet that Call of Duty 2021 will possibly have a trailer and some gameplay sometime mid-year through Warzone. This makes a lot of sense because Black Ops Cold War was unveiled last year around August. Cold War was also revealed via a Warzone event. These parallelisms draw the attention of speculators and see Activison's participation in Gamescom this year as a sign that Vanguard will follow the same route that Cold War took. We might end up getting a new map for Warzone that's themed with Vanguard. We have also heard rumors that a World War II-themed map, potentially for Vanguard, will be coming to Warzone.

Right now, Activision has not confirmed anything about Vanguard yet, nor if there will really be a new Call of Duty coming out this year. Hence, as usual, take these leaks and speculations with a grain of salt.
