Cody Rhodes has been one of the biggest names in professional wrestling in recent years. The second-generation star has done well for himself in the WWE but has been absolutely sensational once leaving the company. How well has he been doing, exactly? Cody Rhodes’ net worth in 2022 is roughly $4 million. This number actually varies depending on the outlet, starting as low as $3 million and as high as $8 million. This is according to numerous reputable sources, including TheFocus.
Rhodes was born Cody Garrett Runnels to legendary wrestler Dusty Rhodes. He eventually legally changed his name to Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes.
Cody began wrestling while studying in Lassiter High School. He’d have a pretty successful amateur wrestling career, winning the Georgia State tournament during his junior and senior years. Originally, he planned to wrestle in college at Penn State University, but eventually decided to pursue professional wrestling straight out of high school. As such he attended an acting school after graduating.
Rhodes started training to wrestle professionally all the way back when he was 12 years old, but he officially began his sports entertainment career in 2006 when he was 20 years old. He initially trained under esteemed wrestling trainer Al Snow, as well as all-time WWE great Randy Orton. Rhodes started in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), which used to be the WWE’s developmental brand. He won his first silverware for the promotion swiftly after winning the Southern Tag Team Championship. Rhodes was also OVW Television Champion and OVW Heavyweight Champion, making him just the fourth Triple Crown champion in the history of OVW.
Cody was promoted soon thereafter to the main roster, with his first feud being with his former mentor Randy Orton.
Rhodes would win his first main roster silverware in the form of the Tag Team Championship alongside Ted DiBiase. The two eventually formed a stable of multi-generational wrestlers called The Legacy with Orton. The stable lasted from 2008 to 2010.
He’d have two Tag Team Championships during this time, on with DiBiase and another one with Hardcore Holly.
Rhodes’ next gimmick would be the “Dashing”/”Undashing” Cody Rhodes. These gimmicks were predicated upon his looks, as well as a legitimate nose injury that forced him to have facial reconstruction surgery.

During 2016-19, he also worked with the two biggest promotions outside WWE at the time, Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). It was a brief spell for Cody with the former, only working for Impact for just 1 year.
He was, however, magnificent in NJPW. Rhodes joined Bullet Club upon his arrival, which has been the most prominent stable in professional wrestling. Rhodes went on to feud with Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega, causing a “civil war” within the group.
