The Los Angeles Clippers weren't going to be able to keep everybody.

After reaching new deals with both Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers, the Clips were unable to retain center Cole Aldrich.

The veteran from the University of Kansas will instead come off the bench for the rising Minnesota Timberwolves, who reached a three-year, $22 million deal with Aldrich.

Perhaps a little underrated, Aldrich was vital to improving the production of the Clippers' second unit. He took advantage of his time on the court; per 36 minutes, Aldrich averaged 14.8 points, 13 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks in 2015-16.

Aldrich has bounced around quite a bit in his career, as Minnesota will be his sixth NBA franchise since he came into the league in 2010. If he's able to put up numbers at the same clip as last season, he should hold a roster spot with the Wolves for quite some time.

After showing flashes of brilliance with their young core, Minnesota hopes to get over the hump and into the playoffs this year under new head coach, Tom Thibodeau. In some ways, they resemble the 2009-10 Oklahoma City Thunder squad that earned an eight seed and pushed the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers to six games in the first round.
