Georgia and Georgia Tech will play in a storied rivalry matchup this weekend. Unfortunately, this game is somewhat of a formality it seems. Georgia is 11-0, and the No. 1 team in the country. Tech on the other hand is 3-8, and has lost five straight games, including a 55-0 loss to Notre Dame last week.
Georgia should have zero trouble whatsoever dominating this game, and the spread reflects that. The Dawgs are a massive favorite vs. Georgia Tech this weekend, and that comes as no surprise. Tech will have a chance to cover due to the line being so large, but a win is essentially out of the question for the Jackets.

Why Georgia Can Cover The Spread
There are several reasons why Georgia can cover this spread. Their offensive line will dominate the line of scrimmage, and the same will be true for their defense when Tech's offense is on the field. The Bulldogs are averaging over 40 points per game while allowing just seven points per game. That type of result is certainly in play here as Tech has struggled with even better ACC teams. Georgia is rushing for over 200 yards per game and Tech is a defense that has not stopped the run well at all this season, vs. teams with much less firepower than Georgia.
The Bulldogs should be able to take what they want in this game and cruise to an easy win to complete a 12-0 undefeated regular season. Georgia can easily cover this spread as well, despite it being nearly 40 points. They should completely dominate this game in all facets. And this game being on the road means nothing. Georgia fans will fill up Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, and likely create a home field advantage for themselves in Tech's stadium. This will be utter domination by Georgia on Saturday.
Why Georgia Tech Can Cover The Spread
On the flip side, there is very little optimism that Tech can hang with Georgia. The spread is large, and they very well may cover. It still seems like a pointless task to bet on Georgia Tech as they just lost 55-0 to Notre Dame last week. The odds they stay anywhere close to the No. 1 team in the nation are not good by any stretch. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs leads in the entire nation in all-purpose yards, and that is nearly the only positive you can find on the Jackets.
It has just been a rough season, and it's not going to get any easier with the top team in the country waiting for Tech in their final game. The only good thing about this game for Tech is that it's the last game of their season. Whoever plays quarterback for Georgia Tech in this game (Jordan Yates or Jeff Sims) will probably need a ice bath (or 10) after this one.
