Philip Rivers, similar to other players that joined new teams this offseason, has had to get accustomed to the way the Indianapolis Colts conduct their franchise.

Chris Ballard, the general manager of the Colts, spoke about Rivers' drive to ‘buy in' and win (per Jim Ayello in the Indianapolis Star).

“He has a tremendous internal drive to be a great teammate, to win, to be the best he can be,” Ballard said, via ProFootballTalk. “He has had to buy into some things that we do here nutritionally and workout-wise that he’s never had to experience before. It’s different for him, but he’s bought into it. His love for the game and football, and his teammates, they are going to feel it even more now that he’s here in the building.”

Before joining the Colts, Rivers spent his first 16 seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers. Therefore, he developed a constant routine with the Chargers, which allowed him to become comfortable with the organization.

However, since signing with Indianapolis, it seems as if Rivers has had to partake in things that he hasn't experienced before. Besides a new workout regimen, Rivers is also being asked to alter his nutrition due to the team's guidelines. At the least, he's comfortable in the offense, having previously worked with head coach Frank Reich.

Nonetheless, Ballard has witnessed Rivers buy into the idea of switching things up in his longtime routine. But if it results in playoff success and possibly a Super Bowl appearance, Rivers seems on board with what the Colts are attempting to do.
