Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri struggled against the Kansas City Chiefs but overall he had another good season and he can't imagine walking away from football if the team wants him back. Vinatieri is 46 years old but was still able to make 23 of 27 field goals this year. He also made four field goals that were more than 50 yards.

Vinatieri said that he wants to take a few weeks to make a decision because it's too emotional of time right now but all signs point to him coming back as long as the Colts want him.

“If they’re wanting, I can’t imagine (I’d) not keep playing, you know?” Vinatieri said via the IndyStar. “I haven’t made the decision yet. I’ll spend a week or two and just kind of see where we’re at.”

Even with the disappointing end to the season, everything is still looking up for the Colts as they are a young team and they have a ton of cap space this offseason. Andrew Luck is also healthy again and looking like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Vinatieri said the direction of this team is one of the big reasons why he would like to be back for another year.

“Absolutely, it always does,” Vinatieri said. “The fact that we’ve got a really good young team. … It’s an easy answer. Yes.”

The Colts haven't said one way or the other if they want Vinatieri back but his play sure suggests they would be smart to bring him back.
