The Indianapolis Colts were forced to attempt a hail mary in their 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. However, the Colts relied on backup Jacoby Brissett for the heave rather than quarterback Andrew Luck.

There was speculation that Luck may have taken exception to his substitution in that situation. Fortunately, it appears he had no issue with it, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk:

“I don’t know,” Luck said. “I was never in a situation to go out there and do it. I think in this situation, to be honest, I don’t know if I could go out there and do it to run around and scramble, step foot in the ground, and try to chuck it.”

Although Andrew Luck may not have had an issue with the whole situation, it still raises cause for concern. The fact that he does not feel healthy enough to perform such a play says volumes about his confidence from a physical standpoint. There is no question that the former three-time Pro Bowler was more than capable of making such a play prior to the shoulder injury. However, it appears he is still not looking to press the issue so early in his return.

Luck's comments are a sign that he is well aware of his current condition. The Colts have taken such precautions through the first three games thus far on offense as well by limiting the distance of his throws. Their hesitance to go deep could make it much easier for teams to game plan against them.
