The Indianapolis Colts have kept a close eye on Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck's recovery process over the last several months that has recently ramped up significantly. This has pushed forward plenty of optimism that he will be ready to go by the season opener.

During an interview with Dave Calabro of WTHR, the 28-year-old gave some more insight to the progress he has made as he revealed that he plans on throwing some of his receivers during this break until the start of training camp later next month.

“Yeah, I will,” Luck said. “I won’t divulge too many secrets on that. But I absolutely will. It’s part of the plan.”

Besides T.Y. Hilton and Chester Rogers, Luck is working with most a new group of wide receivers this upcoming season that hasn't thrown to since he has been sidelined with his shoulder surgery. This is another chance for him to build chemistry with his group of receivers before the start of training camp.

It's also an opportunity for Luck to knock off more of the rust from having been out of the swing of things throwing the ball for the last several months. Although he has made some notable progress in his rehab that has seen him begin throwing once again, there is still some cautiousness around the situation given his importance to the team's long-term future.

The Colts have plenty to be optimistic about concerning their star quarterback, who finally appears to be past the nagging shoulder issues that had cost him the entire 2017 season. If things continue to stay the course over the next couple of months, Luck will be back in the fold leading the charge offensively in Indianapolis.
