Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck continues to improve in his recovery from what has been well over a year rehab from shoulder surgery. Things have particularly picked up over the last few months with him progressing to the point where he is throwing footballs again.

The most promising part of the situation is that he isn't experiencing any lingering pain from throwing. According to Zak Keefer of the Indy Star, this is something Luck reiterated earlier this week.

A renewed conviction in his words comes from the long, hard road since then. “I’ve put a lot of work in,” Luck says of his rehab. “And it’s paying off. My goal is not to get to training camp and plateau. It’s to keep getting better and better.”

As for the most significant detail – pain. Any of that creeping in after a recent throwing session?

“No, no, no, not at all,” Luck said.

Luck has experienced nothing but more steps forward since he returned to the practice field. In fact, him and the Colts are both quite confident that he will be ready to go by the start of the season.

Indianapolis has strong confidence that the 28-year-old can return to performing like one of the top quarterbacks in the league who can lead the franchise back to playoff contention, and possibly further. Luck has proven that he can accomplish just that while the Colts continued to mold the team around him this offseason by improving the offensive line.

These next couple of months should provide more clarity in terms of where Luck is at physically, with the growing expectation being he will be on the field Week 1.
