It has been a long and often frustrating recovery process from shoulder surgery over the last year for Indianapolis Colt star quarterback Andrew Luck. There finally appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel, as former Colts' front office executive Bill Polian voiced on Monday that the 28-year-old is expected to be ready for training camp.

“In talking to every decision maker in the organization they make it clear that Andrew's rehab is coming along as scheduled. It's right in line with what doctor Andrews outlined at the end of the season when he went down there see Dr. Andrews. He is on schedule and they expect that he is going to be ready by training camp.”

There was a some growing concern that Luck would potentially need additional surgery to help him along his recovery process. He continued to experience pain in his shoulder, preventing him from resuming the throwing portion of the rehab process.

Previous reports late last month indicated that he was “very close” to starting exactly that, as he headed out to Los Angeles to work with well-regarded throwing and strength gurus Tom House and Adam Dedeaux. The duo has worked with several prominent quarterbacks in the league such as Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Andy Dalton, and Jared Goff.

This latest development should see Luck start to throw again at some point in the near future, as this will provide a true gauge of what the next plan of action will be. Since the surgery all the way back in January of 2017, he has yet to venture past that point in his rehab from the injury.

Although this quite encouraging news, the Colts are likely going to remain on the precautionary side in order to avoid Luck suffering any additional setbacks that push him away from this target time frame.
