Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers threw 20 interceptions last season with the Los Angeles Chargers; however, Colts coaches aren't concerned.
In a recent interview with 107.5 The Fan, Colts quarterback coach Marcus Brady explained why he doesn't think Rivers' 2019 interceptions are a big concern.
The Colts newcomer's 20 interceptions last season are tied for the second-most of his career. However, as Brady said, most of the interceptions came in desperate situations. Fifteen of Rivers' 20 interceptions came when the Chargers were trailing, and 9 of them came in the fourth quarter. Additionally, six were thrown in the final two minutes of games the Chargers trailed.
Rivers' interceptions may seem bad on paper for the Colts; however, if taking high-risk throws was the only chance the Chargers had to win late in the game, then it's understandable.
