Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard had a phenomenal rookie campaign, but Leonard wants to get even better. And not just a little bit better; a lot better.

“I don’t have a Super Bowl ring, I don’t have an MVP next to my name, so I haven’t done anything,” Leonard said, according to Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star. “I’ve definitely got to get 10 times better.”

Ten times better? That is going to be tough.

After all, Leonard racked up a league-leading 163 tackles to go along with seven sacks, two interceptions, four forced fumbles, a couple of fumble recoveries, and eight passes defended.

When was the last time you saw a stat-line like that?

As a result of his incredible production, Leonard earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors in addition to being named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Still, Leonard still has a bad taste in his mouth after the Colts' Divisional Round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and is using that for motivation going into next season.

“Being so close this year, losing to Kansas City, that hurts, but I think that loss is something we need to help us drive for next year, so we won’t have that bitter taste in our mouths,” Leonard said. “Hopefully we can learn from it, and next year, we can be on the opposite side.”

The Colts won 10 games this past year, becoming just the third team since the AFL/NFL merger to make the playoffs after a 1-5 start.
