The Indianapolis Colts now have their new head coach in Frank Reich. He no longer has to fill the defensive coordinator position after Matt Eberflus decided to stay in Indianapolis despite Josh McDaniels backing out of the job. However, he must still go out in search for a new offensive coordinator.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell still remains on the market as a possible choice for the position.

The Colts have talked with Darrell Bevell for weeks about the team’s offensive coordinator job, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports. While the Seahawks’ former offensive coordinator still could be a possibility for the Colts, the Giants also could have interest in Bevell as offensive coordinator after the Vikings denied them chance to hire Kevin Stefanski.

Bevell has been linked to several open positions over the last few weeks since his firing from Seattle, but nothing has seriously come to fruition up to this point. He has received much consideration from the Colts over the last several days. However, that interest has waned a bit since Josh McDaniels decided to turn down the job to stay with the New England Patriots as their offensive coordinator.

The 48-year-old had been the Seahawks offensive coordinator for the last seven seasons helping them become one of the prominent offenses over that span. He has also played a part in helping Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson develop into one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Bevell's experience calling plays for a team that has been a constant in the playoffs could bring much-needed experience to help reshape a Colts offense that could have Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck back in 2018.
