Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore has proven to be an ageless wonder. At age 34, Gore has managed to put together a solid year, racking up 861 rushing yards and three touchdowns through 16 weeks of the season. His three-year contract with the Colts would expire at the end of this season, but he seems to be far from hanging up his cleats.

According to Mike Wells of ESPN, Gore wants to play beyond this year, and where he spends his next season depends on some factors, mainly the quality of a team’s offensive line and quarterback play.

“Quarterback, O-line, have to be my type of style of team,” he said. “Nasty, physical, punch you in the mouth. I don't want to finish like this. I know I can still play. I want to help a team.”

Gore believes that there’s enough gas left on his tank to help any NFL team. Considering his age, however, it sounds just right for the former Miami Hurricane tailback to get a little demanding in terms of complementary pieces surrounding him.

The Colts sorely lacked Andrew Luck this season, as the team is just 30th in the league in scoring offense, 31st in total offense, and 30th in passing yards per game. Without Luck, opposing teams have been able to focus much on stopping Gore and the Colts’ ground game that ranks just 22nd overall in the NFL.

Gore, who is fifth all-time in rushing yards, will just have to wait and see how the free agency would unfold, as he weighs his option in the offseason.
