Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is finally healthy which is a good thing because the team desperately needs him. Without Luck last year they showed pretty quickly what they were, a football team that couldn't operate without their star.

Colts general manager Chris Ballad has been impressed with what he has seen so far from Luck and he isn't setting the bar low. Not only does Ballard think he is going to have a big year, he thinks it's going to be the best Luck that anyone has seen.

“For a first preseason game, I did have nerves. I had nerves for [Luck],” Ballard told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “But saying that, I also had a lot of confidence because I’ve been watching him through this entire process of where he’s going and to be honest with you, I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Andrew Luck. I really don’t. I think we are about to.”

Luck played into the second quarter in the first preseason game and it was a good step in getting ready for the regular season. When the Colts play the Ravens in the next preseason game the expectations are that he will play even longer.

It has been a long road back for Luck but Ballard has really enjoyed the type of person he has become during this process.

“I don’t ever want to say an injury is a good thing, but to see the growth in him over this last year and a half has been really fun to watch,” Ballard said.
